Film # 279: EVERYBODY'S FINE
3 out of 5 stars
A poignant (and sometimes pretty depressing) story about a family and its secrets. Acting is fine. Direction is a bit better. The story is one which examines a family's secrets and its lack of communication over the years. Going in... you know this will be sad and events pretty much bear that out. There is an upswing at the end, but, man... there are some tearjerker moments. The film is overall worth seeing, but be warned... the shit gets sad and it's easy to get choked up. It's nice to see DeNiro doing weightier fare rather than that Focker crap.
