Film #55: STRIPPED
3 out of 5 stars
More of a primer into syndicated and serialized newspaper comic strips and their creators than an attempt to illuminate the subtleties of the career, STRIPPED is a middle of the road affair. Overall, the information is pretty standard fare: an array of talking heads all discussing how they got into the business, what it’s like to work in the field, and what the future holds and, while it is nice to put faces to famous names, it all starts to blend together in to very similar stories. Fun and helpful, the film simply fails to shed any new light on much of anything. More of a feel good, puff-piece rather than an insightful examination of the art form, STRIPPED is something to merely watch… rather than learn fun.
