Film #191: DR. GOLDFOOT AND THE GIRL BOMBS
Dr Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs
2. out of 5 stars
Directed by the great Mario Bava and made somewhere between PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES and DANGER DIABOLIK, this goofy sex / spy comedy starts to stumble from its first frame. Price is clearly slumming here and who knows what the fuck Fabian is doing hanging around. The cast are wooden and unfunny, the script meandering and just silly. Bava directs on seeming auto-pilot and, a few visual flourishes aside, delivers a cinematic still-born. It’s sad, really. I had some high hopes for this one.
