Film #54: GOODBYE GEMINI
2 out of 5 stars
A severely dated tale of late ‘60s / early ‘70s “swinging” British underground scene. A brother and sister (who are twins and have a very odd - borderline incestuous - relationship) come to the big city and meet up with a bisexual guy who sets about gaining information so that he can blackmail them. Soon, the pair are exacting their own particular brand of revenge. All in all, the proceedings are pretty tame (especially when compared to what the Italians were up to during the same time period) and the aforementioned revenge is a tedious and boring affair. Performances are very British and the direction by Alan Gibson (DRACULA 1972) is by-the-book. Frankly, there’s not a lot worth recommending here although thriller fans of this era may enjoy it (but that’s kind doubtful).
